Delhi Bluelines start claiming their victims
Year 2007 ended with 122 citizens killed by Blueline buses on Delhi roads. 122 families lost their nears and dears, in some cases bread winner of the family.
Year 2008 has stated. Buses are there, Govt is there, photo of Delhi CM is there in govt ads, bus owners are there, drivers are there, but these 122 people are not there. It is only 12 days of the new year, but buses have already started their new innings. They claimed their first victim on Saturday. A blueline bus (DL1P B 1105) plying between ISBT and Mayur Vihar Phase III killed a cyclist Raja, only 31. He had come to Delhi few years ago to earn a living.
Police have registered a case. Bus owner has not been arrested. He has only been summoned (or invited) to join the investigations. Bus driver managed to flee. Bus has been impounded but will be on road soon. Bus driver will surface after some time and will be driving this or some other bus. Another Raja is in danger.
Yesterday blueline buses claimed their second victim of this year.
Mr. Murli, the reason Delhi Govt is not doing anything about it is that it has been reported that most of the blueline buses are owned by politicians, police officers, bureaucrats and other influential people. Drivers are not properly trained. Owner ask them to bring a certain amount every day. For that drivers engage in rash driving. Buses are also not fit.

“Love all, Hate none”
I have also seen reports throughout last year the blueline headlines.
Has anyone tried to find out what is the cause and who is responsible. Is it poor maintenance of the vehicles, Driving skills not properly evaluated, careless or recklessness, irresponsible management, political connections or genuine overloaded traffic.
Anyway what is happening should not be left to take its own course.
