Tution for teachers

When I was a student of 10th standard, above verse was taught to us. Teacher explained to us that Guru and Govind are standing on the same pedestal, meaning both are to be worshiped as equal. Further Guru is more than Govind in the sense that he has made it possible that God has appeared before the student. Bharat is the land of a pious Guru-Shishya parampara. Students were like sons and daughters to the teachers.
It is most unfortunate that in modern Bharat nobody is willing to follow Guru-Shishya parampara. Teachers are not only punishing students in a brutal manner but some teachers have even killed students. Likewise students have also killed teachers. Some teachers look at girl students as sex objects and do not hesitate to sexually abuse them. Sexual harassment cases are rising.
Many teachers do not bother that in a civilized society, corporal punishment is not acceptable as a way of disciplining students. It is not that the teachers are not aware of it but most of them do not seem to have any respect for the law and guidelines issued by Supreme Court. Now Delhi education department is now planning to seek the help of NGOs to counsel principals and teachers regarding the law on corporal punishment. Some teachers have stoop so low that now they will be counselled against beating, killing and raping their students.
strict actions should b taken against the teachers doing the brutal deeds which is not at all acceptable by the society.

a teacher should make a child understand by words and not by beating …as beating will make him stubborn and spoilt and sometimes enters into depression also….
Hello sir,
Teaching and the education system has become a business. The results of the schools are more important, and to achieve excellent results, they adopt any which way, and one of it is corporal punishment.
I would request you to read my article titled “Who is a good Teacher” and give your thoughts.
