Where “Future” never becomes “Present”

Are you aware of any place on this earth where “Future” never becomes “Present”? I know one such place and that is New Delhi in India. For years the city continues to suffer from power shortage, but its government continues to paint rosy pictures for the future. But this rosy future never becomes rosy present.

This year also, Delhi is going to face a powerless summer. People feel that government has run out of options, but the government true to its inefficient and ineffective mode of governance, has again made bright projections for the future. “The city will be self-sufficient in power by 2010″, declared the Chief Minister of Delhi before Indian Planning Commission, who could not say anything to this outrageous statement as year 2010 is the year of Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. Delhi CM played Commonwealth Games trump card this time and got Rs. 10,000 crore from Planning Commission and a reprieve from peoples” demand for power.

The future is rosy so there in nothing wrong in suffering in present. That is another matter that the rosy future will never become rosy present.

I think it is time that people start to realise that the politicians can do nothing to protect the interest of the public and start to be self sufficient.

I think people should use the respective apartments association to pool the financial resources to set up solar plants for power generation. This could be the starter for many such self-sufficient resource generation objectives.
