WILL YOU MARRY ME?

There was a poet in our state. He wrote a poem and published it in a monthly magazine. The poem was a romantic one. I did not happen to read the poem yet but I could get some of his wordings and can memorise the summery illustrated in a daily. Though I would not be able to state the feelings he had creating the poem, i shall try to drop out the summaries in my own language. Inspired by that poem, I tried writing a short story with the same theme but never gather courage to send it for publication fearing that I may be booked under plagiarism. As the memory has faded out of my brain, may be I divert his poem but just want to let you know the theme.

Anyway, the title of the poem was like PATRIS ABOISHYAK in assamese and it will mean something like BRIDE WANTED.

Bride wanted
For a healthy person
No matter what your caste is
May be hindu, muslim, jain, christian, sikh
No matter what your color is
BLACK, FAIR OR MILKY
You need not be beautiful even

I don’t have much for you
Just a room in my heart
Which is filled with love
And can well accommodate you there

If you are there somewhere
You can send me mail
I am waiting your entry to my life

My address for your proposal is
LOVE PALACE
PEACE LANE
HEART CITY
PIN 000000

Everyone knows me
so you need not worry your letter to reach me
Just write and drop it in the letter box
I shall be glad to read you in my home

A gal responded to this poem and wrote a letter to the megazine where it was published. Finally both of them got married.
