No Divorce day: St. Valentine’s day

In order to honor the occasion of St. Valentine’s Day on February 14th the officials in the Thailand city of Roi Et had decided not to accept pleas of divorce.

Thai couples had to postpone their divorce plans after this move by the officials. This is indeed a very good move by the Thailand officials. May be the radical groups in India can learn a lesson from Thailand and not conduct raids and cause disturbance to people already in love.

The Valentine’s Day celebrations in India saw radical groups like Shiv Sena, the Bajrang Dal,the Akhil Bhartiya Maratha Mahasangh and Islamic organizations pretesting in Kolkata, Delhi, Indore, Mumbai and Coimbatore. Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray when commenting on the occasion said that “it is a rotten imported culture thriving on the neo-rich with easy money to squander.”
