Peugeot 4002 concept car: Most talke about car : Killer looks
Peugeot 4002 concept car is the result of an online car design contest organized by Peugeot in the year 2000. Peugeot is a French car manufacturing company and the second largest player in Europe’s automobile manufacturing industry.
The first edition of the car design contest was launched in 2000 and the second edition was launched at the Paris motor show in 2002. The design contest received tremendous response and received about 2800 entries from 90 different countries. Peugeot wanted the design to be retro futuristic, combining advanced styling with traditional features. The design that best fulfilled Peugeot’s expectations came from a graphics artist named Stefan Schulze. Initially his design was named the Lion design and later renamed to 4002. Schulze’s design had a fashionable cab-forward styling and sporty look. The Peugeot theme is omnipresent on the car with the large chrome radiator grill. There are two round headlights behind the grill. The double headlights reminds the viewers of the 1936 Peugeot 402 which had double headlight configured behind the elliptic grill. The color theme also reminds us of the 402 model. The design also has some new futuristic features. The hidden spoiler configuration and the symmetry behind front and rear ends are the new add-ons in the 4002 design. However, critics feel that though the design is bold and expressive it is not realistic.
