Cricket turns “commercial” with IPL auction

There was phase in India when sports and sportsmen were never paid heed either by masses or by classes. The time has changed considerably and now Cricket is like “religion” in INDIA and players are like gods to their audiences. IPL has shown that cricket player’s worth in billions and players from worldwide got spotlight as renowned industrialists and film stars bid for their favorite cricket stars. It will certainly be filling pockets of our players but might not eradicate the authenticity of sports from cricket field. Team India ODI Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni proved to be costliest player of the lot while Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds followed him in the list.

    Hello,

Cricket and cricketers have always been making millions not only from playing cricket, but also from commercials. This has been the trend for almost 10 years now.

The most unfortunate part is that more millions are added to this games pocket and the other sports are getting step motherly treatment.

ACTUALLY, WE ARE JUST OVERLOOKING THE OTHER GAMES AND SPORTS. IN THE RECENT TIME INDIA IS SHOWING ITS DOMINANCE IN HOCKEY TOO. BUT WE DON”T TALK MUCH ABOUT HOCKEY. DEFEATING A COUNTRY BY 17 GOAL MARGINS IS NOT A JOKE. BUT CRICKET COVERS UP ALL.

IT IS OUR BAD LUCK THAT THE INDIANS ARE NOT ENCOURAGED IN OTHER GAMES. IN THE CHESS, THERE ARE MANY INDIANS CLIMBING THE WORLD LADDER WITH MUCH CONVINCING POSITIONS, BUT WHO CARES FOR THEM.

    ANYWAY, CRICKET IS CRICKET………………AFTERALL……………
