Mira Nair gets felicitated for her achievements

Last year, it was special for excperimental cinema and its filmmakers and one among them was talented film director Mira Nair. It was last year when she received loads of accolades for her critically acclaimed THE NAMESAKE, an emotional family drama adapted from Jhumpa Lahiri’s famous novel with similar name. This year, she has been chosen as the India Abroad Person of the Year 2007. Besides this special award, this film director was once Oscar-nominated director for his film like ‘Salaam Bombay”. Indra Nooyi, chairperson and CEO, PEPSI presented her the prestigious award of “Indian Aboard Person” of the year 2007 at a ceremony held at the Gotham Hall in New York City.

    Hi j, I am not a fan of Mira Nair’s films. I have to see many of her movies like Namesake & others. I have seen her movie Monsoon wedding but it was sucking movie.
