Team India was better team today

Team India showed the class which is missing in previous games of the CB Tri series in Australia. I will give credit to Sachin Tendulkar, Ventakesh Prasad (bowling coach) & to the young players who are living up to their expectations. The reserve players are playing competitive that is why players like V Shewag, Dinesh karthik & Suresh Raina has to sit in the pavilion as substitutes. The bench strength is very important for any team.

The Australian batting line up is very strong but if a team bowls according to the field then it is hard to score freely for any team. Indian bowlers showed the spirit & skill. Australia was going great guns at one stage but Harbhajan Singh (38/2) removed dangerous A Symonds (31) & M Hayden (82). Piyush Chawla another promising leg spinner bowled wonderfully & did not allow Australian batsman to score freely. Except Pathan all the other bowlers bowled excellent line & length. At one stage Australia was eying a target of 300 plus runs but the bowlers took important key wickets at regular intervals & restricted them 239/8 in allotted 50 overs. The Australian captain is out of form & same is case with M. Clarke. Hussey played an important knock to help Australia reach a respectable target to defend.

Indian team openers this time were R Uthappa (17) & Sachin Tendulkar (117 not out). Both the players gave India a good 50 runs partnership. Later Uthappa was caught in the deep brilliantly by Hussey, diving to his left. Then Gambhir was napping to a quick 2nd run and he was run out unfortunately. Yuvaraj Singh bad form is continuing and his weakness against spinner is exposed by B Hogg once again. At this stage India was in danger of losing the game but Rohit Sharma (66) played a sensible knock with Sachin & helped India to reach close to the winning target. After the departure of Rohit Sharma, captain MS Dhoni played a brisk knock & build an important partnership with Sachin to win the game for India. In the mean time Sachin finish his century & it is the first one on the Australian soil against the Australians. India reached the winning target in 44.5 overs & 242-4 was the final score.

I wish the others nations also play in this fashion to beat Australia regularly. Congrats to Team India & I wish India wins the CB Tri series & break the arrogance of Aussies team.

Yours lovingly,
By Madhu Vamsi… 🙂

    Hello,

Yes, todays game played by India was throughly professional and outplayed Australia in all aspects of the game. But then, consistency is what ultimately decides the level of the team. Today may have been a great day for India and Autralia were down, but there consistency has never been matched by any team in the last couple of decades. 2 runs of 17 consecutive game wins is a classic example of consistency.

This what we have to start doing. We have the tendency to take someone to the top of the world when the performance is good, but then drop down from the towers, when there is a series of failures.

    Consistency should be the Mantra.
