Miserable failure

George W Bush has been Google bombed.

Web users entering the words “miserable failure” into the popular search engine are directed to the biography of the president on the White House website.

The trick is possible because Google searches more than just the contents of web pages – it also counts how often a site is linked to, and with what words.

Thus, members of an online community can affect the results of Google searches – called “Google bombing” – by linking their sites to a chosen one.

Weblogger Adam Mathes is credited with inventing the practice in 2001, when he used it to link the phrase “talentless hack” to a friend’s website.

The search engine can be manipulated by a fairly small group of users, one report suggested.

Sushmita in a legal hassle over “virginity”

Sushmita Sen finds herself in a soup as the Madurai branch of the Madras High Court issued a notice to her, earlier this week, over some comments made by her on ‘pre-marital sex’

The actress, in a T.V. interview, had commented that “No Indian has chastity or virginity anymore” which didn’t go down well with the legal authorities and the moral police, who felt that such comments could affect the moral fabric of India.

A notice has been issued to the Tamil daily as well, which published the transcripts of the television interview.

In the past, actresses like Khushboo, Reema Sen and Shilpa Shetty have also faced similar petitions in the past for their ‘controversial’ comments.

Aamir Khan

Lord Meghnad Desai on the eve of release of book that he had written on Dilip Kumar had said that Dilip Kumar was the citizen hero for the sixties and after that his space was left vacant and no worthy successor could be found out for him. Dilip Kumar was identified as the citizen hero as he was associated with the films, which dealt in detail with the contemporary issues of the time. Lord Meghnad Desai had made his premise based on the kind of films, which are currently being made, which have an element of escapism knitted in them.

Smilie

SMILIE SURIE

Do you Remember the Girl From Kalyug.
Yah The beautiful lady above is her. SHe is SMILIE SURI.

Like many other newcomers, Smilie didn’t have it easy in Bollywood. Though she was Mahesh Bhatt’s niece, the veteran filmmaker warned her that making a name for herself in the industry would involve a lot of struggle. “I remember my uncle telling me that I was not a Bipasha Basu or a Kareena Kapoor that producers would make a beeline for my house. If I have to make a name, it has to be through days and days of hard work and perseverance,” she says.
