PETA ( People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) on the occasion of St. Valentine’s day protested peacefully against the testing of cosmetic products on animals. They protested peacefully out the Health minister’s office in New Delhi.
As Valentine’s Day was being celebrated all over the world there were small groups of narrow minded people protesting against the celebration terming it as an alien culture and culture degradation. The radical groups including Shiv sena, the Bajrang Dal, the Akhil Bhartiya Maratha Mahasangh ans the Students of Islamic Organisations protested against the celebrations in various parts of the country. About 44 activists were arrested for staging protest.

valentines is a big event for all the the love birds thuogh out this universe.. the day when you are free to say happy valentines day to anyone to whom you even don’t know at all. the day when you put you dil ki baat to your loved one .
One of my friends called me up a few moments back . Besides exchanging news of what is happening in personal life , we talked about some memories of our educcation life too. One of our friends has tied the recently . He was waiting for his beloved for the past four years . Both of them Sanju and his girlfriend never behaved like lovers during out life at university .
It dates back to Roman times where on the eve of festival Lupercal,in honor of the goddess Juno Februata, the names of young women wer put into a box and names were drawn by lot. The boys and girls who were matched would be considered partners during the festival, which sometimes lasted for year or sometimes lifetime.
Has anyone thought for a moment as to why, the Home for the aged and the Orphanages are on the increase? As I was pondering on this subject, a couple of annually celebrated days came to my mind. The Valentines day, the Fathers day and the Mothers day are some of those which immediately rang a bell. On a very macro level everything seemed to be fine as one of self-expression.
