Om Shanti Om is what I would typically describe as a value-for-money entertainment. The movie released to packed audiences and rave reviews around Diwali and I happened to see it over the weekend.

No Smoking: An Unconventional Movie

A movie reviewer wrote that cinema is all about 3E’s: entertainment, education and enlightenment. But it neednt really be, right? Let’s talk about this movie No Smoking. This definitely wasn’t a movie I wanted to see despite being someone who really thinks John is a sensational actor. Right from his first movie, I was one of those movie buffs who strongly predicted that he has far to go because his potential was definitely unexploited. Through every movie, John chiseled his body of work but Anurag Kashyap’s No Smoking beats everything else. So let’s go to the heart of the story.

Festival of Lights

Wow, another Diwali has just passed and it has been as wonderful as ever. Oh I had a real blast this time. I have nothing more to say than the fact that I was amongst a group of people who made sure that we enjoyed maxiumum.

We were invited for lunch, followed by a small noon nap. Later in the evening we were all busy with preparations for the evening puja and other dinner arrangements.

The puja went off really well and we all prayed hard. Next was the most awaited part the crackers. Wow we had a great time blasting all the available high sound stuff and also the soft ones like ground chakkars, flower pots, sparklers and so on.

After the crackers followed a lovely dinner comprising of lovely bhelpuri, rasna, sweets, chips etc.

What more can be in the minds of Millions of Indian Cricket Fans than the ongoing INDIA vs PAKISTAN series.

Accepted that we lost badly in the 2ODI at Mohali but that loss has kept the series alive and really interesting.

I am an ardent fan of Team India. My heartiest good wishes and prayers are always with them and I hope and pray with all my heart that our Indian Tigers win.

Common India show that u are really and truly worthy of being the T20 Champs.

The OJ Simpson Theory

It was also a time when L.A. gangs were using semi automatic rifals to shoot peoples windows out on the freeway. There were young people driving around Los Angeles with no value for human life at all. No fear or value of their own lives. Police Chief Willie Williams decided to put 100,000 more police on the streets of L.A. I called it a feel good policy. A policy to give citizens a false since of security. There are fifty thousand gangs in L.A. And that includes the L.A.P.D’s Viking Gang. Who also did drive by shootings. Tthe world is beginning to see that they have a common enemy. They have nots have nothing else to lose. They are tired of super powers rape, pilliging, and plundering their countries. They are no longer fooled by empty promises.

Intersections

I was reading today that various Schools in San Jose who offer programs that help their students with homework end up applying to the same institutions for funding. Unfortunately only one school can win and so the other schools end up losing out. This ends up creating animosity and begins to polarizes these institutions.

Arming teachers

I wonder how much more dangerous it would be if teachers were allowed to arm themselves in school. Doesn’t that send our youth the wrong message. It makes them into the enemy. A them against us scenerio. Lets say I didn’t like my teacher and for what ever reason and I knew my teacher didn’t like me. So we already have an atmosphere of anomosity and tension that has been created and has been lingering for lets say since the second grade. Then we put in place a teacher can bare arms policy. What do you think a student will do in order that he or she will feel safe in an already volitile classroom. Yes you guessed it. A student will find a way to even the odds in case something were to accuer
